Do you fold up and hide away parts of yourself in order to fit in and be valued and accepted?
Because I used to.
Here’s the sad truth: as women and femmes of color, we were taught to be silent, to be invisible, to fit into a tiny little boy, and stay out of the way.
But I’m calling bullshit.
You and I are proud women and femmes of colour.
We’re business owners.
We are the Revolution.
We’ve fought long and hard to be where we are today and no one, gets to put us in a box.
It’s time we stopped whitewashing ourselves. It’s time we stood up and owned our real selves.
How, you ask?
On today’s episode of the Revolutionary Rising podcast, I talk about how this one word has the power to transform the way you see yourself and the world around you.
Cause, honey, when you trust that you are enough, something magical happens.
You begin to believe.
You begin to believe that you’re already perfect and beautiful and precious just the way you are and you ain’t got time for anyone who tells you otherwise.
‘Cause here’s the tea: the world’s got far too many people who are too perfect, too proper and who know how to say all the right things at all the right times.
But the world’s only got ONE you.
And all those stories you have tucked away in the far corners of your mind? They’re revolutionary.
So you gotta show up. And you gotta show up as you.
And I know it ain’t easy.
Hell, it’s scary as fuck.
So tune in to Episode 3 of Revolutionary Rising to find the courage that I know you got running through your bones. Let this episode inspire you to have faith in yourself, the faith that reminds you every day that you are a fucking goddess.
If we wanna shake up the world, we’re gonna have to start by trusting that we’re good enough to do it.
Until next week,
P.S. – If you’re reading this and realizing that TRUST is a five letter word that is getting in your way of making decisions, showing up fully expressed, and chasing after you want…we should talk!
