Ready to Shake Things Up?

Sep 2, 2020

What is a revolution?

It’s not just standing in a crowd with signs in hand (though that’s pretty damn important).

For better or for worse, as women and femmes of color, revolution permeates the very walls of our businesses.

And it bleeds into everything we do, like:

  • Our marketing
  • The way we sell
  • Our copy
  • Who we serve

Hell, even daring to thrive in a racialized body is revolutionary..

Entrepreneurship has gone too long dominated by whiteness, shutting its doors for the rest of us, and blocking out our voices.

We’re working every day to rise to the top, taking our rightful place in this one-track industry and refusing to cower or stick to the status quo, and that is a revolution.

Making sure we’re charging thriving rates, demanding to be treated with respect, and carving out a niche so deep that no one can even think of moving us out is a revolution.

And honey, I know it ain’t easy.

And here’s the truth – it might never be.

Which is why we’ve gotta stick together.

Community isn’t a “nice to have” in the revolution.

(And the part of you that feels like you’re okay going it alone….hate to break it to you but that’s #colonization speaking.)

You need someone to:

…lean on.

…brainstorm with.

…give you a gentle kick in the butt and remind you that you are the best thing since sliced bread.

…cry tears of misery with when it feels like everything’s falling apart. (I did a version of this one yesterday lol)

I have some important questions for you:

Who is in your corner, ready and willing to support you in this entrepreneurship journey?

How can you lean on them even more?

What could asking for support even more offer you?

What support do you feel like you’re currently missing…and what are you doing to get that support?

Once you figure out what you’re missing, or need more of, head over to The Woman of Color Entrepreneur Revolution and ask for it, precious.

I promise you – someone out there is waiting to be in community with you.

They want to: support you, laugh with you, vent with you.

They want it all, mkay?

So seriously – hop on it! Pop in the group right now and get the love and support you deserve.

As the African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Let’s go far together,

Gieselle
